Traffic signals updated in Grand Forks

The city of Grand Forks is upgrading traffic signal controls at some intersections this week.

The work will take place at 24th Avenue South and South Washington Street on Wednesday. Workers upgraded signals at Gateway Drive and Columbia Road on Monday.

Signals at the intersections are replaced by temporary four-way stops while the work, expected to take a few hours, is under way.

Rain garden to be installed in Grand Forks

The city of Grand Forks and the North Dakota Department of Transportation will install a rain garden at the southwest corner of the intersection of South Washington Street and 17th Avenue South.

The project will replace a portion of the frontage road at that location and remove traffic barriers. The site will also have a kiosk describing the benefits of rain garden filtration systems for stormwater management.
