Road construction projects are popping up all over Grand Forks this summer, but there are several streets that drivers will still experience a bumpy ride on for quite some time.
The city engineering office recently presented its federal transportation funding requests for 2014 to 2017 to City Council members.
Columbia Road’s reconstruction takes most of the construction money cake, but a map presented alongside the requests provides insight to when some of the city’s roadways will be repaired or paved.
One of the rockier streets, North 42nd Street (between DeMers Avenue and Gateway Drive) isn’t set to be smoothed out until 2019.
On the south end, the shows the paths of roads set to be constructed between 2014 and 2022, when house building gears up in the Southern Estates area.
