There’s good news for Grand Forks and East Grand Forks residents who may have been worried about bridge closures between the two cities.
The National Weather Service has lowered the projected crest for the Red River to 42.5 feet, which could mean all three bridges between the cities will remain open.
The crest prediction is a three-foot drop from the crest of 45.5 feet predicted for this weekend issued Monday.
Grand Forks city officials are encouraging to check their sump pumps and take other precautions even though flooding doesn’t seem to be an immediate threat in town. To read more about these, click here.
